Abraham and Sheila Sekhar after being part of New Life fellowship for 22 years and had to leave and start Harvest Mission-a church growth movement. In 1984, GOD showed a vision of a NET (click here to read about the vision in detail) to one of the early charismatic leaders of Mumbai, and asked him to share this vision and build a relationship with Abraham and Sheila Sekhar. Abraham Sekhar was born in South India and received the Lord as his personal Saviour in 1966, and had a firm foundation laid in his life through the ministry of R. Stanley of Blessing Youth Mission during his college days.

Then through specific remarkable guidance, God took him to Mumbai in 1971, for further studies. God called him subsequently to pastor a small charismatic church for seven years. Although there was no significant growth in number, the church members received a firm foundation for their lives and some became leaders later.

Then in 1978, God sent his servant Glady Raj from Delhi and spoke to him clearly to reach out from the church. This confirmed what God had already spoken to him about the harvest field during his college days.

He was instrumental in the hands of God in overseeing many churches in Mumbai and in other states of India. During this period, he trained and developed many leaders for the ministry. He was instrumental in His Hand in establishing a discipleship training Center and conducted conferences and teaching seminars for Christian workers and gospel meetings in various cities. After 14 years of ministry he started to build a pyramid structure for the governing of the tremendous church growth that happened during this period. He was busy engaged in the building up of this structure for the next four years. But the Lord’s purpose for him was not to continue as a part of this structure. So while in Seoul attending a pastor’s conference and thereafter in USA the Lord impressed this on his spirit clearly, spoken thru other men of God and even thru the intervention of an angel and prepared him to face His chastening. It was very hard for him to go thru this chastening, but the vision and Calling of God never died in him, but was properly shaped and came into more clarity.

From 1998 to 2023, God has enabled more than 15,000 Gospel workers, evengelist, pastors & many networks of Churches to come under the oversight of Abraham & Sheila Sekhar & the team of senior leaders.

 Sheila Sekhar, his wife was born and brought up in Mumbai and is a medical doctor by profession. They were married in 1975 and thereafter she assisted him in his ministry.
She and her husband have co-authored five books and she was a regular writer in Christian magazines. Her special calling is counseling and looked after women’s ministry for some years, her longing was to see men and women of God relating together in love and trust and not as part of an organizational structure.

Abraham and Sheila were seeking the face of God through 1995-1998, although they continued their church ministry in the name of Harvest Mission. Sheila went to Ellel ministries UK and received the ministry of the fresh Word of God in her life and desired that her husband too go for it. Meanwhile, the Lord had been impressing in his heart that He wanted to move in a new way in the new millennium. The vision of the Net was also simultaneously being fulfilled in some leaders led by God. But the message of God for the new move was not clear yet in Abraham’s mind.

In 2000, Abraham Sekhar went to Ellel ministries, UK and God spoke to him clearly to carry His message from the Word I Thes 5:23. God showed him clearly how His Body on the earth is weak: and sick because His people in the church are weak and sick spiritually.
